About The Film
Mutiny is a 2026 action thriller directed by Jean-François Richet. The screenplay was written by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis. Jason Statham produces the film through his company Punch Palace Productions alongside Marc Butan of MadRiver Pictures. Lionsgate handles distribution in the United States.
The story centres on Cole Reed, a former Royal Marine and private security operative. After witnessing the murder of his billionaire employer, he is framed for the crime. With limited options, he boards a cargo ship in pursuit of those responsible.
Once on board, Reed discovers a wider international conspiracy that puts him in direct conflict with the crew and forces him to fight for survival at sea. Jason Statham plays Cole Reed. Annabelle Wallis appears as Angie Ellis. Roland Møller takes on the role of the main antagonist Marko Madsen.
Supporting cast includes Adrian Lester, Jason Wong and others. The film runs 95 minutes and is rated R for strong violence and language. Principal photography took place in locations including the United Kingdom and Malta. The finished film marks another collaboration between Statham and Lionsgate in the action genre.
