About Gaman

Gaman follows Bhau and Mai, an elderly couple from rural Konkan who travel to Mumbai to stay with their sons while receiving medical treatment. Their sons are settled in the city, but Bhau and Mai find it difficult to adjust to the fast pace of Mumbai.

They miss their village, their home and the fields where they spent most of their lives. At the same time, Kundan and Tara, two siblings displaced by floods in Uttar Pradesh, arrive in Mumbai looking for work. Kundan eventually finds a job, and their lives become connected with Bhau and Mai.

During Ganeshotsav, the elderly couple return to their village, with Kundan and Tara accompanying them. A close emotional bond develops between them. When the siblings later have to return to their own village, Bhau and Mai are once again left facing the loneliness of old age and the distance between their village home and their children’s city lives.
