Chennai, October 20, 2025 – Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest outing, Dude, is keeping the cash registers ringing even on a weekday. The romantic action comedy, which hit theatres on Diwali, has shown a decent hold on its fourth day despite the expected drop after the festive weekend. Directed by newcomer Keerthiswaran and backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is winning hearts with its mix of laughs, romance, and high-octane action.

Early trends suggest that Dude raked in about Rs 7.5 crore nett in India on Monday, bringing its total domestic nett collection to around Rs 38 crore. This is a solid performance for a mid-budget film, especially when competing with other big releases like Dhruv Vikram’s Bison and Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1. Sources say the movie is holding strong in Tamil Nadu, where it has already crossed Rs 25 crore in just four days, thanks to positive word-of-mouth from family audiences.

Day wise India Gross collections (in Rs crore):

  • Day 1 (October 17): 11.50
  • Day 2 (October 18): 11.75
  • Day 3 (October 19): 12.50
  • Day 4 (October 20): 8.81

Total India nett: 44.56 crore

On the global front, Dude is performing even better. With strong openings in overseas markets like the US, UK, and Gulf countries, the film added another Rs 3-4 crore from international territories on day 4. This pushes the worldwide gross past the Rs 60 crore mark in just four days. Industry trackers point out that the Telugu-dubbed version is also contributing well, pulling in over Rs 10 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana so far.

What makes Dude stand out is its fresh storyline. The plot revolves around cousins Aegan (played by Pradeep) and Kural (Mamitha Baiju), who run a surprise event-planning business. Things get complicated with family drama, inter-caste romance, and a powerful minister (R Sarathkumar) thrown into the mix. The supporting cast, including Hridhu Haroon and Rohini, adds more flavour to this entertaining ride. Fans are praising Pradeep’s comic timing and the film’s lively music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Compared to its rival Bison, Dude is clearly ahead, leading by more than Rs 20 crore after four days. While Bison managed around Rs 4 crore on day 4, Dude‘s consistent numbers show it’s the preferred choice for Diwali viewers. Experts believe the film could touch Rs 100 crore worldwide if it maintains this momentum over the next week, especially with no major releases clashing soon.

Overall, Dude proves that good content can win big at the box office. If you’re yet to catch it, this might be the perfect time to head to the theatres and join the fun.
