Suriya’s upcoming film Scene is already making noise at the ticket counters, and the advance booking numbers are looking pretty solid with just a couple of days left for release. The action comedy, directed by Jithu Madhavan and co-starring Nazriya Nazim and Naslen, hits theatres on November 6, 2026, right in the middle of the Diwali weekend.
Fans seem ready. Latest tracked figures show the film has pulled in ₹4.21 crore in India advance bookings for opening day alone. That covers 2,37,403 tickets across 2,528 shows in 508 theatres spread over 197 cities. Average ticket price sits at around ₹177, with overall occupancy at 28.7 percent and 54 shows already marked housefull.
Chennai is leading the charge, contributing ₹1.45 crore roughly 34.5 percent of the total advance and posting a healthy 51.2 percent occupancy across 460 shows. Kerala is not far behind. Kochi and Trivandrum together account for a big chunk of the southern demand, with the state as a whole clocking ₹1.63 crore. Tamil Nadu remains the strongest market at ₹2.07 crore (about 49 percent of the national advance), followed by Kerala at 38.6 percent.
Bengaluru, Madurai, Thrissur and Coimbatore are also showing decent early interest. What stands out is how quickly the bookings picked up once full inventory opened. Early reports from a day earlier already showed strong movement in Kerala, and the numbers have only climbed since. The film is releasing in both Tamil and Telugu, which is helping it spread across more centres.
Overseas bookings have also been active for a few weeks, with tickets available in Australia, the US, Malaysia and other markets ahead of the worldwide release. For those still planning a Diwali outing, seats are filling in the bigger centres, especially evening and night shows in Chennai and Kerala. The story follows a police officer forced to reopen an unfinished case with a rather chaotic team classic Suriya territory mixed with the quirky energy Jithu Madhavan brought to his earlier work.
With two days to go, the advance booking trend suggests Scene is walking into the festive weekend with solid momentum. Whether it turns into a full blown Diwali hit will depend on word of mouth after the first shows, but the early ticket sales have given the film a clear head start. Fans who haven’t booked yet might want to move a little faster in the key cities.
