Scream 7 Day 2 Box Office Collection – Saturday

Ghostface made a thunderous return to cinemas on Day 1 (Thursday–Friday, February 27, 2026), and the numbers speak for themselves. Scream 7 posted franchise-record previews of $7.8 million on Thursday night alone, surpassing the $5.7 million that Scream VI had earned in its previews back in 2023. When the full Friday rolled out and regular showtimes kicked in across 3,500 North American locations, the combined Thursday–Friday haul is estimated to have landed in the range of $18–20 million domestically — again tracking above Scream VI’s $19.2 million combined Day 1 figure. The film is also playing in IMAX and ScreenX for the first time in franchise history, giving it a premium-screen advantage that its predecessors never had.

In India, however, the story is considerably quieter. Scream 7 minted approximately ₹40 lakh on Day 1 in India, having released only in English without any dubbed versions hitting the big screens. The lack of Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubbed prints has significantly limited its reach to urban multiplex audiences in metro cities — a pattern consistent with most mid-range Hollywood slasher franchises in the Indian market. With The Kerala Story 2 and the ongoing O Romeo both drawing domestic audiences, Scream 7’s India run is expected to remain niche throughout its theatrical window.

Now heading into Day 2 — its first Saturday — Scream 7 is widely expected to deliver a massive Saturday jump globally. BoxofficePro currently forecasts the opening weekend in the range of $45 million to $55 million domestically, which would put it in serious contention to break the franchise’s all-time opening weekend record. The critical reception has been polarising — the film currently sits at 38% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, while audience scores are tracking at 79%, a gap that suggests fans are significantly warmer on the film than professional reviewers. That audience enthusiasm could translate to solid Saturday walk-up numbers, particularly among the 17–34 demographic and long-time franchise loyalists showing up for Neve Campbell’s return.

About Scream 7 and Future Prediction

Scream 7 is a 2026 American slasher film directed by Kevin Williamson — the original screenwriter behind the 1996 and 1997 classics — marking his feature directorial debut. The film was co-written by Williamson and Guy Busick, and stars Neve Campbell returning as Sidney Prescott alongside franchise veteran Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, with Isabel May joining the cast as Sidney’s daughter Tatum. The story picks up with Sidney having built a quiet new life in Pine Grove, Indiana, only to have it shattered when a new Ghostface killer sets their sights on her daughter. Other returning faces include Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding, while newcomers Anna Camp, McKenna Grace, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, and Joel McHale round out the ensemble. The film does not feature Melissa Barrera or Jenna Ortega, who had led the previous two entries — Barrera was fired after a social media controversy, while Ortega departed over scheduling conflicts with her Netflix series Wednesday.

The production cost $45 million net, co-financed equally by Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group, with P&A spend estimated at an additional $25–30 million, bringing the total break-even bar to approximately $150–160 million worldwide on a theatrical basis. The first six Scream films combined have grossed approximately $910 million globally, and Scream 7 is virtually certain to push the franchise past the $1 billion worldwide cumulative milestone — a landmark moment for the 30-year-old slasher series regardless of how the individual film performs. The troubled production history — including directorial changes, cast overhauls, and a year-long delay — adds some asterisks to the journey, but the opening weekend numbers suggest audiences are still showing up for Ghostface.

Looking ahead, if Scream 7 hits the $45–50 million domestic opening range, it would set a new franchise record and project to a $130–150 million domestic lifetime — placing it firmly in profitable territory. A worldwide start of $60 million would rank as the franchise’s second-best global opening after Scream VI’s $66.4 million debut in 50 territories. However, the weak critical reception (sub-40% on Rotten Tomatoes) could cause a steeper-than-usual drop from Sunday onward, as casual moviegoers who rely on reviews may stay home. The franchise’s ability to push past $150 million globally will depend heavily on whether the audience word-of-mouth — currently more positive than critic reviews suggest — holds through the second and third weekends. Either way, Ghostface has carved out a respectable opening. Whether Scream 7 becomes a hit or just a survivor is a story the next two weekends will tell.
