Trade analyst Sumit Kadel has issued a bold box office prediction for Rocking Star Yash’s highly anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, which is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.
According to Kadel’s latest assessment, the Geetu Mohandas-directed gangster drama is expected to open with ₹35–40 crore nett on Day 1 in Hindi alone. He notes that the numbers could climb even higher if the film receives strong public reception right from the first shows.
With solid word of mouth, Kadel believes the five-day weekend (Wednesday to Sunday) could take the Hindi nett collection to the ₹180–200 crore range. The prediction also highlights a massive contribution from Karnataka, where Day 1 gross is estimated at ₹25–30 crore.
Other languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and the rest) are expected to add around ₹25 crore gross on opening day. Putting it all together, Kadel has projected a Day 1 worldwide gross of ₹110–120 crore for Toxic.
The analyst went a step further, stating that Yash will once again prove he is a “bonafide true-blue pan-India star” even without the support of a franchise. The film is an original story and marks Yash’s first theatrical release in nearly four years after the blockbuster success of KGF: Chapter 2.
Toxic features Yash in a dual role and co-stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film has already generated strong advance booking momentum, particularly in Karnataka and key Hindi markets.
As the countdown to August 26 continues, all eyes are on whether Toxic can convert the pre-release buzz and these optimistic projections into a real box-office storm.
