Ramayana Review

It is a mythological action adventure that aims to retell the epic for today’s audiences while keeping the core values of duty, sacrifice and dharma intact. Early shows have drawn strong interest, with many viewers treating it as a must-watch event film for the festive season.

The story follows Prince Rama of Ayodhya as he faces the challenges that shape his path. Bound by family duty and a larger destiny, he steps into exile with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman. Their journey soon brings them face to face with powerful forces, including the formidable king of Lanka.

The film stays focused on the early chapters of the tale, building the world and characters without rushing into later events.Early reactions on X and other platforms show a mixed but mostly positive response. Many viewers have praised the grand visuals, large scale action sequences and the overall production design.

Yash’s portrayal of Ravana has received special mention for its intensity and screen presence. Ranbir Kapoor’s calm and dignified take on Rama and Sai Pallavi’s graceful performance as Sita have also been appreciated. Ravi Dubey’s work as Lakshman and certain key sequences, including the Jatayu portion, have stood out for several people.

Some common complaints include the long runtime of three hours and fifteen minutes, occasional slow pacing in the middle portions, and a few visual effects that felt less polished than expected. A section of the audience felt the emotional weight of certain scenes could have been stronger, while others found the music impactful in places but uneven overall.

Still, the general sentiment leans towards treating it as a big theatrical experience worth catching on the large screen. This film will appeal most to viewers who enjoy large scale mythological dramas, strong production values and familiar cultural stories told with modern technical ambition. Its biggest strengths are the scale, the lead performances and the attempt to present the epic with care.

The weaknesses lie in the length and uneven emotional pull in some stretches. For those who like cinema on the big screen with premium formats like IMAX, watching it in theatres makes sense. Others who prefer tighter storytelling may choose to wait for a later streaming release.
