Set against the backdrop of the Emergency period in India during the 1970s, the film is based on real events involving a group of school students from Palakkad.
The story follows a set of teenagers whose lives are upended after they get caught up in the political unrest of the time, leading to their detention and a long struggle to reclaim their freedom.
It looks at how ordinary young people were affected by the harsh administrative measures and police action of that era, and how they found the strength to endure a deeply difficult chapter in their lives.
