Our Review of Sareeram
Sareeram takes on a bold topic like gender transformation in a love story gone intense. It’s about a couple facing threats from the girl’s uncle, so they decide to switch genders to be together, but a dodgy cop stirs up more trouble leading to court drama. Dharshan and Charmi lead with real emotion, and Shakeela adds some spark, but the story feels fresh yet heavy. It’s got that Tamil mix of romance and thriller, perfect if you like films that make you think, without overdoing the action.
What Worked
- The unique gender swap theme – handles a sensitive issue with a new angle.
- Strong performances from Dharshan in his debut and Charmi.
- Emotional courtroom twists that keep you hooked.
What Didn’t Work
- Might be too intense or niche for family crowds.
- Pacing could drag in emotional parts.
- Not much hype to boost opening buzz.
