Cult Review
The movie opened to a mixed response. Some viewers liked the bold violence and Vishwak’s intense screen presence, while others found the first half slow and the writing uneven. Overall audience sentiment stayed divided between those who appreciated the different attempt and those who expected tighter storytelling.A group of youngsters heads to a high energy party at a remote venue expecting fun.
Things quickly turn dark when they find themselves trapped and forced into a deadly game of survival. The story follows their fight against masked threats while a police officer also gets drawn into the chaos. The film stays focused on tension, brutality and the scramble to stay alive without revealing major twists. On social media, many praised Vishwak Sen’s performance as the cop and the high energy action sequences. Ravi Basrur’s background score also received frequent mentions for adding intensity.
Common complaints centred on the first half feeling predictable and dragged out, along with excessive violence that some felt lacked stronger emotional grounding. Overall sentiment remained mixed, with appreciation for the ambition but notes that the film could have been sharper.Cult will mainly appeal to viewers who enjoy violent action thrillers and are open to graphic content. Its strengths lie in the action staging and Vishwak’s committed presence.
Weaknesses include uneven pacing and writing that does not always match the film’s ambitions. Those sensitive to extreme violence may prefer waiting for streaming. For action fans looking for something different in Telugu cinema, a theatre watch is still worth considering on the strength of the second half and technical elements.
