Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has continued its theatrical run with an impressive first-week performance. The action entertainer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has attracted audiences across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada markets. As of Day 7, the film is reportedly approaching the ₹600 crore worldwide gross milestone, although published estimates differ across box office trackers.
The film reportedly has a budget of around ₹350 crore, including production and promotional expenses. With worldwide earnings reportedly reaching ₹582.45 crore, Jailer 2 has made a strong start at the box office. However, gross collections should not be confused with profit, as taxes, distributor shares and other expenses affect the final returns. The film opened strongly on Thursday, October 15, with an estimated worldwide gross of ₹107.50 crore.
On Day 2, collections stood at approximately ₹88.62 crore. The film picked up momentum over the weekend, earning ₹102.35 crore on Saturday and ₹99.26 crore on Sunday. The weekday performance remained encouraging initially. On Monday, Day 5, the film reportedly collected ₹58.54 crore worldwide, followed by ₹60.82 crore on Tuesday. However, Wednesday brought a noticeable slowdown as weekday audience turnout declined. On Day 7, October 21, Jailer 2 reportedly earned around ₹28.15 crore in India net collections, according to a Moneycontrol report.
This represented a drop from Tuesday’s reported India net collection of ₹46.80 crore. The difference suggests that the film is experiencing the usual midweek pressure after its strong opening and weekend run. Ticket sales and theatre occupancy also provide insight into its performance. Reports attributed to TrackTollywood indicated approximately 14.75 lakh tickets sold across 15,425 shows on Day 7, with occupancy at around 33.8%. On Day 6, reported occupancy was approximately 53.2%, showing a decline in audience turnout.
These figures are estimates and may vary depending on the markets and tracking methods covered. Despite the midweek dip, the film remains in a strong position heading into its second weekend. Rajinikanth’s popularity, the sequel’s appeal and audience interest across multiple language markets have contributed to its opening-week momentum.
Overall, Jailer 2 has delivered a promising first week against its reported ₹350 crore budget. Its next major target is the ₹600 crore worldwide mark, and the coming weekend will be important in determining how well it sustains its box office momentum.
