The romantic drama, backed by Manish Malhotra and directed by Vibhu Puri, had very limited advance booking with tickets going on sale quite late in most places. About Gustaakh Ishq and Future Prediction
Gustaakh Ishq is a poetic love story set against the backdrop of Old Delhi’s lanes and Punjab’s Malerkotla. Vijay Varma plays a failed shayari-loving man trying to revive his father’s kite shop, while Fatima Sana Shaikh and Naseeruddin Shah add depth to this quirky romance. The trailer promised something different with its shayari and vintage vibe, but sadly the buzz never really caught on with the mass audience.
For it to recover, the film desperately needs strong word of mouth tomorrow (Saturday). If reviews and audience feedback turn positive, we can see decent growth over the weekend, maybe pushing towards ₹10-12 crore in the first three days. But right now, with hardly any advance for Saturday either, it looks like an uphill task. Anything around ₹25-30 crore lifetime would be a struggle, while crossing ₹40-45 crore could still make it a semi-hit given the controlled budget.
