In an unexpected turn of events, the much-awaited release of Akhanda 2 has been postponed, leading to widespread confusion among fans who were gearing up for Day 1 shows across India. The news surfaced shortly after BookMyShow began facing a platform-wide outage, displaying a “500 Internal Server Error” from around 2:20 PM IST on Friday.
Thousands of users took to social media reporting that they were unable to access show timings or book tickets. Many initially believed the server crash was caused by an overwhelming surge in traffic for Akhanda 2, as the film has been one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year.
However, sources from the exhibition sector later confirmed that the release has been officially postponed, though the new date is yet to be announced. Theater partners also reported that schedules were abruptly removed from backend systems, adding to the uncertainty.
