About The Film
Daayra begins with the disappearance and murder of a young girl, an incident that sends shockwaves through the public and sparks intense pressure for swift justice.
As outrage builds, the case falls into the hands of two police officers, DCP Ajooni Kohli, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan, and DCP Raman Kumar, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran, who soon find themselves approaching the investigation from very different angles.
As the two officers dig deeper, the case pulls in a wide circle of people connected to the crime, each viewed differently depending on which side of the investigation one stands.
Rather than framing the story as a simple hunt for a culprit, the film leans into the tension between the two officers, whose differing methods and convictions place them increasingly at odds with one another as the case unfolds.
The investigation raises uncomfortable questions about policing, public pressure and how justice is actually delivered versus how it is expected to look from the outside.
Without revealing how the case is ultimately resolved, Daayra follows Ajooni and Raman as their paths diverge and collide, exploring the grey areas between right and wrong that come with holding the power to decide someone’s fate.
