About The Film
Set in the aftermath of an unnamed war, Without Blood follows Nina, a woman whose family becomes caught up in the violence of the conflict when she is just a child.
Years later, as an adult, Nina is still shaped by what she witnessed and endured during that time, and the film follows her as she comes face to face with pieces of her past she has never fully reckoned with.
Directed by Angelina Jolie and adapted from Alessandro Baricco’s novel of the same name, the film is a quiet, intimate drama that moves between different points in Nina’s life to explore how trauma lingers, how memory shapes identity, and what it might take for someone to find some measure of peace after profound loss. Rather than a conventional war story, it’s framed as a deeply personal meditation on survival and the long emotional aftermath of violence.
