About The Film
Meesaya Murukku 2 continues the story from the original 2017 film, moving into a new chapter set in North Chennai. Spanning three generations of musicians, the film follows Jeeva, a talented but playful young Gaana singer, whose dreams stretch far beyond his local neighbourhood as he sets his sights on taking his street rooted music to a much wider audience.
Rooted in an emotional, fact based narrative, the film explores the deep connection between music and identity, following Jeeva’s journey as he tries to carry forward a sound that has always belonged to his community while chasing something bigger for himself. His path is shaped by the people around him, spanning different generations, each carrying their own relationship with the music that defines their world.
Mixing musical drama with the coming of age spirit of the original, the film follows Jeeva as he balances ambition, roots and the weight of carrying a legacy forward. Without revealing how far his dream takes him or what he sacrifices along the way, Meesaya Murukku 2 stays true to its musical soul, following Jeeva’s journey from the streets of North Chennai toward a bigger stage.
