Deewana, a Telugu romantic drama directed by debutant Sreekanth Sangishetty, released in theatres today. The film stars Harshith Reddy and Smeha Manimegalai in the lead roles and tells a story of one-sided love.
Early reactions from paid premieres and initial shows have been mostly positive, with audiences responding well to its emotional tone and honest storytelling. The movie follows a young man dealing with unrequited love.
It shows his longing, vulnerability, and the emotional journey he goes through while navigating his feelings. The story also touches on family, friendship, and personal dreams in a simple, relatable way. It avoids heavy twists and focuses more on feelings and real-life emotions that many young people can connect with.
Audience reactions shared on X, Instagram, and other platforms highlight Harshith Reddy’s natural and sincere performance as one of the biggest strengths. Many viewers said his portrayal of vulnerability feels real and stays with you after the film ends.
Smeha Manimegalai has been praised for her charming screen presence. The music by Eswar Chand and the background score have received good mentions for lifting the emotional scenes.
The second half, in particular, is being called engaging and moving, with several people admitting they got emotional or even shed tears during key moments. On the other side, since it is a content-driven love story rather than a fast-paced commercial film, some viewers might find the first half slower.
It does not have high-energy action or typical mass elements, which may not suit everyone looking for pure entertainment. Overall, the early sentiment is positive among those who enjoy heartfelt romantic dramas, with many calling it a beautiful and honest watch, especially for youngsters.
If you like simple emotional love stories with strong performances and good music, Deewana is worth considering in theatres. The emotional scenes and music can feel more impactful on the big screen. Those who prefer high-octane or comedy-heavy films might find it better to wait for OTT.
Final Verdict: Deewana is a sincere and emotionally engaging romantic drama that works because of Harshith Reddy’s committed performance and the director’s honest approach to one-sided love. Early audience reactions show it has connected well with its target viewers through strong emotions and music. It is a decent theatrical option this weekend for those who enjoy genuine, feel-good love stories without heavy commercial packaging.
