About Comrade Kalyan
Comrade Kalyan follows Kalyan, a clever man who runs a theatre in a village near the Andhra Pradesh Odisha border in the early 1990s. He uses communist ideas and local political connections to keep his old theatre running.
Kalyan falls in love with Sitara, a young woman from Odisha, and tries to win her heart. However, his efforts lead him into a series of misunderstandings and unexpected problems.
As the story develops, Kalyan becomes involved with a Naxalite group and kidnaps a leader, causing his situation to become more complicated. The film combines romance, comedy and political conflict as Kalyan tries to deal with the consequences of his actions.
