DeSu7 has settled into a steady rhythm at the box office after four days. The Dev and Subhashree Ganguly starrer, which also marks Dev’s directorial debut, continues to hold well during the Durga Puja festive window.
The film opened on Friday, 16 October, with solid numbers for a Bengali release. Here’s the day-wise gross so far:
Day 1 (Friday): ₹0.89 crore
Day 2 (Saturday): ₹0.77 crore
Day 3 (Sunday): ₹0.89 crore
Day 4 (Monday): ₹0.86 crore
This takes the four-day India gross to approximately ₹3.41 crore, with the India net standing at ₹2.88 crore. Overseas numbers remain negligible, so the worldwide total is essentially the domestic figure.
The opening day saw 468 shows with around 31% occupancy and roughly 44,000 footfalls. Saturday dipped slightly in both collection and occupancy (29% across 442 shows), which is common after a strong Friday. Sunday bounced back nicely with a 15% rise, better evening occupancy (overall 35%), and healthy ticket sales as families headed out during the Puja holidays. Monday maintained the momentum with 38% occupancy across 416 shows, helped by the festive holiday crowd.
Advance bookings before release had already crossed ₹1.13 crore (including blocked seats), showing decent pre-release interest. Ticket prices in major Kolkata chains ranged from around ₹190 to higher premium seats, and the film managed consistent show counts without major drops.
Budget details for DeSu7 have not been officially disclosed. Industry chatter points to a controlled, mid-range Bengali production focused on action, romance and star power rather than extravagant scale.
Overall, DeSu7 is delivering a respectable festive opening. The holds on Monday look encouraging, and the coming days of Puja holidays will decide how much further it can climb. For now, the film is holding its ground with steady occupancy and consistent daily collections.
