Main Vaapas Aaunga is a Hindi film that released in theatres on 12 June 2026. The film opened with a very poor response across India and failed to create any significant buzz or advance bookings.

It delivered one of the weakest openings for a mid-budget film in 2026, struggling to attract audiences despite being part of a multi-film release window. Worldwide, Main Vaapas Aaunga had a negligible start with almost zero overseas collections.

The film has continued to decline with each passing day and is performing very poorly at the box office. It is clearly heading towards a disaster verdict with almost no theatrical traction.

Main Vaapas Aaunga opened on 12 June with modest numbers but gained strong momentum through positive word-of-mouth. The emotional partition drama connected well with audiences, especially in the second week, helping it hold steadily despite competition from bigger releases.

As per the latest report, it has collected around ₹68 crore in India gross so far, with worldwide figures crossing ₹82 crore. The film continues to run in theatres with decent holds in key markets and is adding small but consistent numbers in its fifth week.

Our Review

Main Vaapas Aaunga marks Imtiaz Ali’s much-awaited return to theatrical cinema with a story that feels deeply personal and rooted in the collective memory of Partition. The narrative weaves between timelines, following an older man (Naseeruddin Shah) reflecting on his life and a younger version of the character (Vedang Raina), while Diljit Dosanjh plays a pivotal role that adds emotional weight and star appeal. Sharvari completes the key ensemble.

The film explores love not just as romance but as a force tied to identity, displacement and the longing to return — themes that have long defined Imtiaz Ali’s best work. With A.R. Rahman’s soulful score and Irshad Kamil’s lyrics, the music is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the emotional journey. Early reactions have praised the sincerity, performances (especially Naseeruddin Shah’s nuanced turn) and the film’s ability to evoke nostalgia without becoming overly sentimental.

At the box office, Main Vaapas Aaunga has registered a moderate opening on its first day in a crowded release week. The film’s strength lies in its emotional connect with family audiences and the diaspora rather than mass appeal, which is reflected in its steady but not explosive start. Compared to recent Imtiaz Ali films or Diljit Dosanjh starrers, the opening is in a realistic range for a content-heavy period drama. The Partition theme and multi-generational story have the potential to drive strong word-of-mouth, especially if reviews highlight the film’s emotional depth and musical beauty.

In the coming days, its performance will depend heavily on positive audience feedback and how well it holds among competing releases. If it manages to strike the right emotional chord, it could enjoy a healthy run through family viewings and repeat watches driven by the music. For now, it has made a respectful start that positions it well for gradual growth through organic recommendations rather than front-loaded numbers.

Welcome to the Jungle is the third instalment of the popular Welcome comedy franchise. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film features a massive ensemble cast led by Akshay Kumar, along with Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever and many others.

The film opened to a very strong response across India. It benefited from the star power of Akshay Kumar and the nostalgia associated with the Welcome franchise. The paid previews were decent, and the first day collections were impressive for a comedy film. The film registered excellent growth on the second day and continued to hold well on the third day as well.

Being a full-on masala comedy with a huge star cast, it found audiences across multiplexes and single screens, especially in North India and mass centres. The film clashed with Carry on Jatta 4 on the same day but managed to dominate the Hindi belt comfortably.

Our Review

Welcome to the Jungle is a typical big-budget, multi-starrer comedy that banks heavily on its star power and chaotic humour. Ahmed Khan has packed the film with enough madness, confusion and over-the-top situations to keep the audience entertained for most of its runtime. Akshay Kumar leads from the front with his trademark energy, while Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty and the rest of the veteran cast bring back the nostalgia of the earlier Welcome films.

The film works best when it sticks to its core strength loud, silly and unapologetic comedy. There are several laugh-out-loud moments, especially in the first half. However, the second half feels stretched and relies too much on repetitive gags and celebrity cameos. The screenplay lacks freshness, and some tracks feel forced just to accommodate the large cast. On the box office front, the film has delivered a powerful opening.

With over ₹72 crore worldwide gross in just four days, it is clearly on track to emerge as a Hit and possibly a Blockbuster if it sustains well in the second week. The strong performance in North India and mass centres has been the biggest positive. While the growth slowed a bit after the weekend, the numbers are still very healthy for a comedy film in today’s market. Overall, Welcome to the Jungle is a typical commercial entertainer loud, colourful and designed for mass consumption.

It may not win any awards for originality, but it successfully delivers what the audience expects from a Welcome film. For Akshay Kumar and the producers, this looks like a much needed success after a mixed run at the box office. The film has already recovered a significant portion of its budget and should comfortably cross the ₹150–200 crore mark worldwide if word-of-mouth remains positive.
