About The Film
Bandkhor follows six women, each carrying her own background, struggles and outlook on life, whose paths come together as they take a stand against injustice.
Played by Chhaya Kadam, Priyadarshini Indalkar, Mrunal Kulkarni, Pooja Katurde, Titiksha Tawde and Nityashree Mahalaxmi, each of the six characters is meant to reflect a different facet of women’s lived experiences in society.
Rather than following a single, linear conflict, the film draws its strength from the collective journey of these women, as their individual battles begin to intersect and reinforce one another.
Director Mahesh Manjrekar has described the six characters as mirrors of real women in everyday life, suggesting a story rooted in familiar, relatable struggles rather than distant or dramatized ones.
As the women navigate the challenges placed before them, the film builds toward a shared sense of resistance and solidarity, showing how standing together can be its own form of strength.
Without revealing what specific injustice the six women ultimately confront or how their individual arcs conclude, Bandkhor follows their collective journey as an exploration of resilience, sisterhood and the quiet power of women refusing to stay silent.
