Dridam Movie Collection | Budget | OTT | Hit/Flop

Dridam is a Malayalam crime mystery thriller film that released in theatres on 8 May 2026 starring Shane Nigam, Dinesh Prabhakar and Shobi Thilakan in lead roles.

The film opened with a poor response across Kerala and had negligible collections in other states. It failed to create any significant buzz or advance bookings, resulting in one of the weakest openings for a Malayalam film in 2026.

Worldwide, Dridam had a negligible start with almost zero overseas collections. The film has struggled to find an audience and is performing very poorly at the box office. It is clearly heading towards a disaster verdict with almost no theatrical traction.

The budget is around ₹8 crore

Our Review

Dridam is a crime mystery thriller that attempts to deliver an engaging investigation story but fails to engage the audience due to weak execution and lack of strong content. Shane Nigam tries his best in the lead role, but the film suffers from a predictable screenplay, average direction and limited emotional depth.

While there are a few moments that work, the overall narrative feels stretched and fails to create any real tension or excitement. It comes across as a routine and forgettable watch that doesn’t leave any lasting impression.

At the box office, Dridam opened to extremely poor numbers and has continued to decline with each passing day. The film has failed to attract even the core audience in Kerala and has almost zero presence in other states or overseas markets.

With a lifetime collection of under ₹4 crore against a budget of ₹8–10 crore, the film is a clear Disaster. It has been unable to generate any positive word-of-mouth or repeat value. For a project with decent intentions, this is a very poor result.

The film stands as another example of how even mid-budget Malayalam films struggle when the content fails to connect with the audience. Dridam is unlikely to recover its investment theatrically and may quietly move to OTT without creating any impact.
