Our Review of Kiss
Kiss is a fantasy romantic comedy where Kavin plays Nelson, a guy who can see the unhappy future of couples after watching them kiss, and it messes with his own love life with Preethi Asrani’s Sarah. Kavin does a good job with the funny parts, and the supporting cast like RJ Vijay brings laughs, but many actors like Devayani are wasted with little to do.
Sathish directs it light and fun at first, but the second half gets serious without deep emotions or strong twists, making it feel uneven. It’s charming with a nice message on kindness, but subplots don’t hit hard and it settles for safe instead of bold.
What Worked
- Kavin and Preethi Asrani’s fresh pairing brings good chemistry and charm.
- The comedy bits and romantic scenes look timed well for laughs.
- Jen Martin’s tunes add that peppy vibe to keep things lively.
What Didn’t Work
- Might rely too much on usual romantic comedy tropes if the story doesn’t surprise.
- Some supporting roles could feel underused based on the promo.
- As a debut directorial, pacing might have minor hiccups.
