Our Review of Rakshaka
Rakshaka is a blend of family drama and thriller, focusing on a police officer whose daughter falls in love with a criminal he’s filed cases against, leading to family turmoil and duty conflicts. The short runtime makes it suitable for a chill evening, with performances, especially the father daughter bits, holding it together. However, the story is predictable, lacks major surprises, and could have had better action or suspense. Some dialogues come off as cheesy, like old school drama. Okay for a casual watch, but nothing standout.
What Worked
- The family emotions and cop’s dilemma feel real and pull at your heart.
- Short runtime keeps it from dragging too much, perfect for a chill evening.
- Performances from the leads hold it together, especially the father-daughter bits.
What Didn’t Work
- The story is pretty predictable, no major surprises to keep you hooked.
- Could’ve had better action or suspense to amp up the thriller part.
- Some dialogues come off cheesy, like old-school drama.
