The Marching Band is a 2024 French comedy drama directed by Emmanuel Courcol. The screenplay was written by Courcol and Irène Muscari. The film is produced by Marc Bordure and Robert Guédiguian under Agat Films.
Greenwich Entertainment is handling the limited US theatrical release. The story centres on Thibaut, a successful and internationally known orchestra conductor who collapses during a rehearsal and is diagnosed with leukemia.
In search of a bone marrow donor, he learns that he was adopted as a child. This discovery leads him to his biological brother Jimmy, a school cafeteria worker living in a working-class town in northern France. Jimmy plays trombone in the local marching band.
Despite their very different backgrounds and lifestyles, the brothers begin to form a connection through their shared love of music. Benjamin Lavernhe plays Thibaut Desormeaux and Pierre Lottin plays Jimmy Lecocq. Sarah Suco appears in a supporting role.
The film runs 102 minutes and is not rated. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024 and became a commercial success in France before arriving in US theatres on 21 August 2026.
