Directed by Ahmed Khan and written by Farhad Samji, the film serves as the third installment in the popular Welcome franchise. The film is one of the biggest Bollywood releases of 2026 because of its massive ensemble cast and the strong popularity of the Welcome franchise. The original Welcome and its sequel Welcome Back developed a loyal fan following through comedy, memorable characters and family entertainment.
The third installment attempts to expand the franchise further by combining comedy with action and adventure elements. At the Indian box office, Welcome To The Jungle is expected to open strongly due to the popularity of Akshay Kumar and the franchise value attached to the Welcome brand. The film has generated significant attention through its teaser, trailer, songs and promotional events.
The reunion of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon after more than two decades has also increased audience curiosity. In overseas markets, the film is expected to perform well across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and the Gulf region. Comedy entertainers with large ensemble casts have traditionally performed well among overseas Indian audiences. The film’s worldwide performance will depend on audience reception, reviews and word of mouth after release.

Our Review
Welcome to the Jungle looks set to deliver the kind of clean, mass family entertainment that has been missing from theatres for some time. From the trailers and the title track that is already out, it is clear that the makers have kept the signature confusion and madness of the Welcome series while giving it a fresh jungle setting. The core idea of completely mismatched people landing in one chaotic situation and creating non-stop comedy feels familiar and comforting, but the jungle backdrop gives new space for visual gags, chases and set-piece humour that earlier parts did not have.
The biggest strength visible even before release is the star power. Akshay Kumar is leading with his usual energy and timing. The return of Suniel Shetty alongside him after many years brings back old chemistry vibes that fans love. Adding Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Jackie Shroff along with Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez gives the film multiple layers of comedy and glamour. The presence of reliable comedians like Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda suggests there will be plenty of small, memorable moments that make the film rewatchable.
The recreation of the title track has already clicked with audiences, and if the other songs also become popular, it will only help the film stay longer in theatres. On the box office front, the pre-release phase has been very encouraging. Advance bookings opened strongly on 23 June, and paid previews on 25 June are expected to add good numbers in key circuits. Trade analysts are looking at a healthy opening, and if the humour works for families and word-of-mouth stays positive in the first week, the film has the ingredients to hold well into weekdays.
Compared to the previous Welcome films, this one has a much larger star ensemble and a new jungle canvas, which could help it emerge as the biggest grosser in the franchise if the content clicks across age groups. The comedy genre still works strongly in smaller centres and single screens, and this film appears designed to tap into that audience along with multiplex crowds. Overall, Welcome to the Jungle feels like a proper theatrical outing that the entire family can enjoy without stress. If the execution matches the pre-release excitement and the word-of-mouth remains good after 25 June, it has every chance of becoming one of the biggest comedy successes of the year.
