Drishyam 3 opened on a positive note on its first day, Thursday, May 21, 2026. Trade reports indicated steady collections through the day, backed by record pre-sales that had already crossed ₹35 crore gross worldwide. High anticipation for Mohanlal’s return as Georgekutty, combined with strong advance bookings especially in Kerala, helped the film register a solid start despite it being a weekday release.

About Drishyam 3 and Future Prediction
Drishyam 3 continues the story of Georgekutty, played by Mohanlal, four and a half years after the events of the second film. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the thriller brings back the core cast including Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Asha Sharath. The film also released in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada dubbed versions, expanding its reach across South India while retaining its signature suspense and family drama elements.
The third instalment arrived with massive pre-release excitement, evident from the record advance bookings. Released on Mohanlal’s birthday, it benefited from strong fan loyalty built over the franchise’s decade-long journey. Early theatre occupancy was particularly impressive in Kerala, while dubbed versions showed steady interest in other regions despite varying levels of awareness.
Looking ahead, the film is well placed for a strong opening weekend and has the potential to emerge as one of the biggest Malayalam grossers of the year. Positive word-of-mouth could help it hold well in the coming weeks. If the current momentum continues, Drishyam 3 may comfortably cross the ₹150 crore worldwide mark and strengthen the franchise’s legacy further.
