Advance bookings for Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups have kicked off with strong energy, and Bangalore is clearly the hottest market ahead of the film’s worldwide release on August 26. In the city, ticket sales for opening-day shows are moving quickly.
Several screens, especially Kannada versions and premium formats like IMAX and 4DX, are already close to full or sitting at high occupancy. Early morning fan shows and evening slots are seeing steady demand, with reports indicating many performances crossing the 80-90% mark in popular theatres.
The overall response in Bengaluru remains among the strongest in the country, reflecting the deep connect Yash enjoys with local audiences. The film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, marks Yash’s big-screen return after a long gap. It also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles.
Toxic is releasing in multiple languages — Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English — and the pre-sales picture shows Karnataka leading by a wide margin, with Bangalore contributing the biggest share of bookings. Trade observers note that the early numbers are encouraging for a mid-week release.
While the film is still a few days away, the pace of bookings in single screens and multiplexes across the city suggests solid word-of-mouth potential even before opening. Premium ticket prices in some Bangalore theatres have not deterred fans, with several high-end shows filling up steadily.
Outside Bangalore, other Karnataka centres are also showing healthy occupancy, while the Hindi version is gradually picking up in bigger cities. With more shows expected to open in the coming days, the advance booking graph is likely to climb further.
For now, Bangalore remains the clear frontrunner. Fans who haven’t booked yet may want to act soon — the better seats for August 26 are disappearing fast.
