Welcome to the Jungle Box Office Day 14: Akshay Kumar’s Comedy Keeps Rolling, Adds Another ₹1.8 Cr

It’s been a steady ride for Welcome to the Jungle. Two weeks in, Akshay Kumar’s big ensemble comedy is still drawing decent footfalls even as the post-weekend lull sets in. On its 14th day (July 9, Thursday), the film brought in around ₹1.80 crore net at the Indian box office, running across roughly 6,000 shows with about 10% occupancy.

That’s a gentle drop from day 13’s ₹2.35 crore — nothing alarming, just the usual Thursday slowdown. What matters more is that the film isn’t crashing. It’s holding its ground in a market where many films fade fast after the first week.

Where It Stands Now

As of day 14, Welcome to the Jungle has pushed its India net collection to approximately ₹124.7 crore, with India gross crossing ₹148 crore. Worldwide, it has comfortably moved past the ₹180 crore mark, with overseas adding a steady ₹31+ crore so far.

The second week (days 8–14) has already delivered over ₹31.5 crore net — a respectable number that shows the film still has some gas left in the tank.

Here’s a quick look at how the second week has shaped up:

Second Week Trend (Net Collections)

  • Day 8 (2nd Fri): ~₹4.5 Cr
  • Day 9 (2nd Sat): ~₹7.5–8 Cr
  • Day 10 (2nd Sun): ~₹9.75 Cr
  • Day 11 (2nd Mon): ~₹2.65–3 Cr
  • Day 12 (2nd Tue): ~₹3 Cr
  • Day 13 (2nd Wed): ₹2.35 Cr
  • Day 14 (2nd Thu): ₹1.80 Cr (live)

You can see the pattern — strong weekend spikes followed by the expected mid-week cooling. But the drops aren’t brutal, which is a good sign for a comedy of this scale.

What’s Working

Welcome to the Jungle (the third film in the Welcome franchise) is classic Akshay Kumar territory — madcap situations, a huge star cast (Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon and the usual gang of comedians), and enough family-friendly humour to keep multiplex and single-screen audiences engaged.

Word of mouth seems to be helping it hold better than expected in week two. Families are turning up, and the film is getting decent traction even in smaller centres. The 10% occupancy on a Thursday isn’t spectacular, but for a film that’s already past its opening frenzy, it’s perfectly acceptable.

The Road Ahead

With a reported budget of around ₹125 crore, the movie is hovering right at the edge of hitting that number in India net. A few more steady days and it should cross comfortably into clear hit territory. If the trend continues and it doesn’t face any major new competition in the next week or so, a final India net of ₹140–150 crore looks very much on the cards.

Overseas has been decent too (₹31+ crore and counting), which is always welcome for an Akshay Kumar film.

All in all, Welcome to the Jungle is shaping up to be another solid addition to Akshay’s 2026 run. It opened big, held reasonably well through the first week, and is now refusing to disappear quietly in week two. Not every film manages that these days.

For a multi-starrer comedy that arrived with sky-high expectations, this is a performance that should keep the producers and the lead star smiling. The jungle might be getting a little quieter, but it’s far from empty yet.
