Our Review of Saira Khan Case

Saira Khan Case is a Hindi drama based on a real court case about a woman fighting for her rights after a triple talaq abroad.

Rajniesh Duggall and Poonam Dubey lead the cast, with good efforts in showing the emotional and legal battles.

Directed by Swati Chauhan, a former judge, it feels real with courtroom scenes and talks about women’s rights and laws. But sometimes it gets slow and preachy, losing some punch in the story. If you like films on social issues, it’s worth a look, but might not grab everyone.

What Worked

  1. Poonam Dubey’s strong acting as the fighting mom brings real emotions to the screen.
  2. The courtroom scenes feel tense and real, like watching a true case unfold.
  3. It handles sensitive topics like divorce and rights in a way that’s respectful and eye-opening.

What Didn’t Work

  1. Some parts might feel a bit slow if you’re looking for faster drama.
  2. The supporting roles could have more backstory to make them stand out.
  3. It sticks close to facts, so no big twists if you know the real story.

Facts and Behind the Scenes

Swati Chauhan, one of the directors, is actually a lawyer, and this film comes straight from a case she handled in her own courtroom that’s why it feels so real. They shot a lot in actual court like sets in Mumbai to keep the vibe authentic, and the team kept things tight with a small crew to focus on the story. Not many know that the script was tweaked based on real legal papers from the case, adding those little details that make it stand out.

Another interesting thing is Karan Razdan, who co-directs and acts, brought in his experience from older Bollywood films to mix drama with facts. The motion poster came out in September 2025, building hype on social media, and insiders say they did quick reshoots for some emotional scenes to get the tears just right. Most people aren’t aware that it’s inspired by a woman’s battle with four marriages involved, which adds layers to the fight for custody.
