About The Film
Dandakali follows Devi Kali, played by Trupti Mirambika, whose journey is centred on the pursuit of justice. As the film’s subtitle, The Flame of Justice, suggests.
The story draws on the imagery of a fierce, protective goddess figure, using that symbolism to frame Devi Kali’s fight against wrongdoing around her.
Set against the cultural backdrop of Odisha, the narrative follows Devi Kali as she is pushed into a position where she must stand up for what is right, even as circumstances around her grow increasingly difficult.
Her resolve and sense of conviction shape much of the story, positioning her as someone unwilling to stay silent in the face of injustice.
