About The Film

Haru, known to her family and friends as Ha-Chan, lives in Tokyo, where she and her husband, Luis, share a deep love for ballroom dancing. Together they compete on the city’s dance scene, and the dance floor is where their life feels most joyful and alive.

After a tragedy changes everything, Haru withdraws from the world and shuts herself away at home. Some time later, her friends and family gently coax her back to the dance studio, where a new instructor arrives and begins to stir up feelings she did not expect.

As she steps back into the music, Haru has to face what comes next and decide how she wants to move forward. Told in a mix of Japanese, Spanish, and English, the film is a warm and whimsical mix of comedy, romance, and grief. It uses music and dance as a way for its characters to express what words cannot, and it looks at how a person can find their footing again after loss.
