Our Review of Guri
Guri tries to combine humour and thrill, set against a backdrop of civic issues a government school at risk of closure, bureaucratic apathy, adventure and small kids trying to save their school. The lead actors like Achyuth Kumar and supporting cast bring credibility, and tone seems family friendly with mild thrill elements. But initial footfalls are weak, likely because marketing has been modest, and the genre mix may not draw large crowds immediately. If it maintains consistency and gets good word of mouth, it could settle into a moderate performer rather than a big hit.
What Worked
- The child actors bring fresh energy and make the emotional parts relatable.
- Suspense elements build up nicely, with some clever twists that surprise you.
- Supporting cast like Ugramm Manju adds depth and intensity to the drama.
What Didn’t Work
- Pacing dips in the first half, feels a bit slow to get going.
- Comedy doesn’t always land, some jokes come off forced.
- Production values are basic, could’ve used more polish in visuals.
