Mitha Zehar is a Punjabi movie, released on 10 April 2026 starring Rahul Kalia, Ruuh Sanga, Karam Kaur, Ranjit Riaz Sharma and other main cast. The film opened to a modest response at the Indian box office, consistent with its positioning as a low-budget action crime thriller targeting core Punjabi audiences in Punjab and select urban centres.
Index
Early collections reflected limited screen count outside traditional Punjabi markets and cautious audience turnout for its narrative exploring ambition, blackmail, and moral consequences among two young women from a small town, resulting in subdued footfalls during the initial days despite targeted promotions highlighting the lead cast’s performances and gritty storytelling.
Worldwide, Mitha Zehar has generated collections almost entirely from domestic markets, with negligible overseas contributions typical for small-scale Punjabi releases without extensive international marketing or star-driven appeal.
The film’s focused appeal on character-driven crime drama and socially relevant themes of greed and ambition has allowed it to connect modestly with mature regional viewers seeking realistic content, though broader mass traction remained limited in the competitive April 2026 theatrical landscape.

Our Review
Friends, the trailer of Mitha Zehar has really got me excited and I am sure many of you feel the same. Rahul Kalia looks powerful and convincing as Daman in this gritty action-thriller that carries raw Punjabi flavour. Ruuh Sanga brings the right support as Aasha and the way the story mixes power, betrayal and the price of easy money feels fresh for Punjabi cinema. The supporting cast like Karam Kaur as Geet and Ranjit Riaz Sharma as Jassi add that solid backing which makes the conflict and drama feel real and intense.
The background score in the trailer already sets a strong mood and in the film it is expected to lift the action and emotional scenes perfectly. The cinematography captures both the gritty world and the intense moments nicely from what we saw. The editing keeps the pace tight. What I liked most in the trailer is how the film seems to talk about greed, deceit and consequences without long lectures. It shows how one wrong choice can change everything.
Compared to other recent Punjabi action-thrillers we have seen, Mitha Zehar stands out because it builds the suspense slowly and lets the audience feel the raw energy along with the characters. For a film made on just ₹8-10 crore, the production values look rich and the action scenes give that proper edge without looking cheap. As far as box office is concerned, Mitha Zehar has a real chance to do well because content with local flavour is still loved in Pollywood.
The trailer has created genuine curiosity and with good hold in the coming days, it can easily cross the ₹12-18 crore India gross mark and bring handsome profits for everyone. This kind of project gives hope to many new directors and actors who want to tell bold Punjabi stories. If you love stories that keep you guessing with a mix of action and heart, then Mitha Zehar looks like a must-watch in theatres this weekend.
It is not just another film; it is a smart, well-made action thriller that Punjabi cinema needs right now. I am sure Rahul Kalia and the whole team will get a lot of appreciation and new offers after this one. Go watch it with family or friends and enjoy the thrilling ride.
