Our Review of Nishaanchi
Nishaanchi is a crime drama from Anurag Kashyap about twin brothers with different lives, full of betrayal, love, and revenge in a gangster setting. Aaishvary Thackeray debuts in a double role nicely, with Vedika Pinto and Monika Panwar giving good support. The movie has raw action and some fun nods to old films, but it feels a bit long with too many flashbacks. From early talks on social media, theatre occupancy is low at 15-20% on day 1, showing not much crowd pull against big releases. Still, okay for fans of dark stories
What Worked
- Anurag’s direction – That real, intense storytelling with crime and emotions mixes well.
- Cast chemistry – Newbie Aaishvary and vets like Zeeshan Ayyub could shine in the twin dynamics.
- Masala elements – Promises action, drama, and redemption without feeling forced.
What Didn’t Work
- Might feel too dark or slow in parts if it leans more indie than commercial.
- Box office clash with other releases could hurt visibility.
- Trailers reveal a lot, hope the full film has surprises.
