Our Review of Vala: Story of a Bangle

Story of a Bangle is a simple drama about traditions and family ties through a bangle’s story. Lukman Avaran and Dhyan Sreenivasan give decent acts, but the film feels slow with no big moments. From early reports on social media, theatre occupancy is low on day 1, around 10-15% in Kerala, showing not much buzz. It’s okay for a quiet watch, but doesn’t stand out.

What Worked

1. The comedy timing in the trailer, especially with the bangle mix-ups, feels spot on.
2. Solid cast like Vijayaraghavan and Shanthi Krishna who can handle both laughs and emotions.
3. Govind Vasantha’s music, with songs like Ikleeli, gives a cool mix of folk and modern beats.

What Didn’t Work

1. Buzz is okay but not huge, might miss pulling in massive openings.
2. Could get predictable if the plot sticks too close to usual comedy tropes.
3. Some parts in the teaser seem stretched, hoping the full film keeps the pace.
