Our Review of Valsala Club
Valsala Club is a fun Malayalam comedy drama set in a village where weddings are stopped due to some pride issues, and the young guys from the club decide to fix it. Kaarthik Shankar and Akhil Kavalayoor lead the cast with good comic timing, and Roopesh Peethambaran adds more laughs. Directed by Anush Mohan in his debut, the film has quirky situations, village vibes, and some emotional bits about traditions. The music by Jonathan Bruce fits the light mood. But some jokes feel forced, and the story could be tighter in the second half. Overall, it’s an entertaining watch for family audiences during festivals.
What Worked
- Super fun and unique story about wedding chaos hasn’t been done before!
- Vineeth Thattill and Dhyan Sreenivasan’s comic timing looks spot on.
- Mix of humour and village feels that screams Malayalam cinema magic.
What Didn’t Work
- Might not pull crowds outside Kerala without big marketing.
- Some jokes in promos feel a bit old school.
- Needs more buzz to compete with other releases.
