Bollywood fans, get ready for some spooky fun with a twist! Shraddha Kapoor has just dropped a big surprise by announcing ‘Choti Stree’, an animated film that’s all set to expand the popular Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). This new project is a spin-off from the blockbuster ‘Stree’ series, and it’s aimed at kids and families, blending animation with a bit of live action magic.
Announcement Highlights
The announcement came last week, and it’s already creating a buzz on social media. Shraddha, who plays the mysterious ‘Stree’ in the original 2018 film and its super-hit sequel ‘Stree 2’, shared the news on her Instagram. She posted a teaser poster with the caption, “Meet Choti Stree! Coming soon to theatres.”
The film promises to dive into the backstory of her iconic character, answering questions that fans have been asking since the first movie like, what’s the real story behind Stree’s haunting?
Production Details
Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, ‘Choti Stree’ is designed to be family-friendly, unlike the more adult oriented horror comedy of the main series. Sources say it will end with a special scene that connects directly to ‘Stree 3’, mixing animation and live-action to set up the next big chapter. This clever move is sure to keep the franchise going strong, especially after ‘Stree 2’ broke box office records earlier this year.
Shraddha seemed super excited in her post, saying, “This is something special for the little ones, but trust me, even grown-ups will love it!” The MHCU, which also includes films like ‘Bhediya’ and the upcoming ‘Thamma’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana, is growing fast. With ‘Choti Stree’, they’re taking a bold step into animation, which could open doors for more kid-centric stories in Bollywood.
