Thalapathy Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan opened on a solid note on Thursday and managed a decent hold on Friday despite the expected drop.
The political action thriller has now entered its first Saturday with steady audience support, especially in key Tamil Nadu centres where housefull boards were reported in several evening shows.
Day 3 numbers show the film has almost matched its Friday gross, helping it inch very close to the ₹100 crore India gross mark. BookMyShow ticket sales crossed 2.3 million overall, and morning-to-afternoon trends indicated better retention than the previous day in Chennai, Coimbatore and a few other pockets.
The overall trend remains mixed but positive for a mid-week release. Strong fan turnout and the emotional send-off factor continue to support the collections even as word of mouth stays average in some markets.

About Jana Nayagan and Future Prediction
Jana Nayagan marks Thalapathy Vijay’s last big-screen appearance before he shifts focus fully to politics. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film also features Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju in key roles. It is a high-stakes political action thriller that generated massive pre-release interest because of the farewell tag.
The film has so far shown resilience after a big Thursday opening. The Saturday numbers staying almost level with Friday is a good sign for the weekend. With Sunday still to come, Jana Nayagan is expected to comfortably cross the ₹100 crore India gross mark and push the worldwide total higher.
Looking ahead, the high budget means the film will need strong holds through the first week and decent second-weekend business to move towards a healthy verdict. The emotional connect with Vijay’s fans and solid Tamil Nadu performance will be the key factors deciding how far it goes in the coming days.
