Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next big release, King, which has become the talk of Bollywood as India’s priciest action movie. With a massive budget of Rs 350 crores (excluding promotions and prints), this thriller is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Gauri Khan and Mamta Anand under Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. Set for a 2026 release, it features six huge action sequences that promise edge-of-your-seat excitement.
What started as a smaller project with a Rs 150 crore budget has grown into something epic under Anand’s direction. Originally written by Sujoy Ghosh with SRK in a supporting role, it evolved into a full SRK-led film when Anand took over.
Cast and Key Highlights
The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan in a tough, new look, alongside his daughter Suhana Khan in her first big-screen role, and Abhishek Bachchan as the villain. Fans are already excited about leaked images of SRK’s intense style, predicting a massive box office hit.
Here are some key highlights of King:
- Six major action scenes, with half shot on real locations for authenticity.
- Elaborate sets for the other action parts, including a standout intro for SRK.
- A mix of high-action thrills and emotional family moments.
- Father-daughter duo adding a fresh twist to the story.
Budget Details and Production
The Rs 350 crore budget makes King stand out in Indian cinema. It covers high-end production, special effects, and location shoots. Industry experts say this scale is needed to compete globally, especially with SRK’s star power.
Box Office Expectations
With such a big budget, everyone is watching King’s potential earnings. SRK’s recent successes like Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki set a high bar. Analysts predict a strong opening day of Rs 50-60 crores in Hindi, possibly more with good marketing.
To break even, the film may need Rs 700-800 crores worldwide, including income from TV, streaming, and music rights. Fans hope for even bigger numbers, thanks to SRK’s appeal and Anand’s track record in action films.
