About Vilayath Buddha and Future Prediction
Vilayath Buddha is a gripping Malayalam action thriller based on G.R. Indugopan’s novel, centering on a tense ego clash between a retired teacher and his former student over a valuable sandalwood tree in a village setting. Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in a powerful role as Double Mohanan, alongside Shammi Thilakan and Priyamvada Krishnan, the film explores themes of ideology, greed, and redemption.
Directed by newcomer Jayan Nambiar, it has received praise for its intense performances and raw storytelling, though some noted the runtime feels a bit stretched. With positive audience feedback and strong night shows on opening day, the movie is poised for a weekend boost, potentially crossing ₹5 Cr in India by day 3 if the trend holds. Its limited overseas release could add more with word-of-mouth.
