Dodmansa arrived in theatres on 19 June 2026 as a fresh Kannada commercial entertainer. Directed by and starring R Sharath Krishna in the lead, the film also features Reshmaa Lingrajappa, Huli Kartik and supporting actors like Bala Rajwadi and Shilpa Shivakumar.
It combines action, romance and drama in the story of a small-town dreamer trying to make it big in Bengaluru’s film world. Early audience reactions from premier shows, shared on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, have been largely positive.
Viewers appreciated the effort put in by the new team and walked out feeling entertained. The story follows Shivu, a village boy who dreams of becoming an actor. He shifts to Bengaluru and starts driving an auto to survive.
There he meets Sneha, an aspiring actress, and gets pulled into the chaotic world of a struggling filmmaker. Their journey involves chasing opportunities, facing tough producers and dealing with the gap between dreams and harsh realities — all while romance and action keep things moving.
Most praise went to the action sequences and Sharath Krishna’s performance in the fight scenes. Many called the stunts “sakkath” and said the hero carried the mass moments well. The motivational thread about middle-class struggles and the film industry’s tough side also struck a chord with viewers.
Several people described it as a “nice movie” and a “new effort” worth supporting, especially since it comes from fresh talent. Some felt the romance portions followed familiar patterns and the overall narrative did not offer many surprises. A few noted that the drama sections could have been tighter.
These are common observations for debut-led commercial films and have not stopped the generally encouraging word-of-mouth so far. If you like straightforward action dramas with emotion and root for underdog stories, Dodmansa should work for you. It is best enjoyed on the big screen where the fights land with more impact.
Family audiences and regular Kannada cinema goers will probably have a decent time. Those looking for something very fresh or deeply layered might find it average and can wait for OTT.
Final Verdict: Dodmansa delivers a decent package of action, emotion and earnest performances that early viewers have welcomed. It may not break new ground but succeeds as an engaging one-time commercial watch. Worth a theatre visit if you want to support new Kannada cinema and enjoy solid stunt work.
