Index
Being a small-scale film without big stars, it managed to attract attention through positive word-of-mouth and strong early ratings on booking platforms. The story, which revolves around a one-sided love and emotional journey set against the backdrop of Hyderabad’s Old City, seems to have struck a chord with family and youth audiences in its initial hours.
Worldwide, Deewana had a very limited opening as it is primarily targeted at the Telugu audience with no major overseas push at the time of release. The film’s strength lies in its relatable emotions, honest storytelling, and soulful music rather than high-octane action or star power. Early feedback suggests that those who watched it on the first day appreciated the performances and the emotional depth, which could help it build gradually through word-of-mouth in the coming days.

Our Review
Deewana is a small, content-driven romantic drama that tries to tell a heartfelt story of one-sided love with sincerity. The film has received decent reviews for its emotional depth, natural performances, and soulful music. Harshith Reddy has been appreciated for his genuine portrayal, and the film’s climax has been praised by those who watched it.
However, despite the positive word-of-mouth from a small section of the audience, the film has failed to create any significant buzz or excitement among the general public. At the box office, Deewana has opened to extremely poor numbers. With just around ₹0.05 crore gross on its first day, the film is struggling badly to find screens and audiences.
This is a very weak opening even for a small film. The lack of strong marketing, limited theatrical reach, and competition from other releases appear to have hurt its prospects significantly. Looking at the current trend, Deewana is likely heading towards a Disaster verdict unless it sees a miraculous improvement through exceptional word-of-mouth over the weekend.
For a film of this scale, recovery will be very difficult through theatrical collections alone. Its best chance lies in satellite and OTT rights. The film serves as another example that content alone is not enough in today’s market without proper reach and promotion.
