Our Review of Mana Che Shlok
Mana Che Shlok kicks off with Manva, played by Mrunmayee Deshpande, who’s this strong, independent woman juggling life, and then she meets Shlok, Rahul Pethe, who’s got his own baggage. The story rolls out how they handle love in today’s world, with family poking in and all those expectations we face. It’s got those cute moments mixed with real talks that make you nod along, like yeah, that’s how it is.
What I liked is the natural flow no forced drama, just everyday stuff turning into romance with some good laughs thrown in. The Marathi dialogues feel spot on, and the music lifts the mood without overdoing it. Mrunmayee shines both in front and behind the camera, making the characters feel like people you know from around.
Overall, it’s a feel good watch for anyone who’s been through the ups and downs of relationships. Might not be a big blockbuster type, but it’s warm and fun, perfect for a family outing. Fingers crossed it gets the love it deserves after such a long wait to release.
What Worked
- Mrunmayee Deshpande’s double role as director and lead brings fresh energy and real charm.
- The light-hearted take on modern love and family pressures keeps it relatable and fun.
- Songs by Siddharth Mahadevan add that extra pep to the romantic bits.
What Didn’t Work
- Some parts might feel a tad slow if you’re expecting quick twists.
- The supporting cast could have more screen time to shine.
- Stays simple, so no big surprises for folks wanting heavy drama.
Facts and Behind the Scenes
Mana Che Shlok was actually started back in 2020, but got hit by the pandemic delays, making it one of the first Marathi films to resume shooting after lockdown. Mrunmayee Deshpande wrote, directed, and starred in it, turning it into a personal project where she plays opposite multiple guys in a fun way, though the main story focuses on her and Rahul. They shot in real Maharashtra spots to keep that homey feel, and not many know the team finished filming quickly post-lockdown to beat the odds.
Another interesting thing is the title comes from old Marathi verses about the mind, but twisted into a modern romance tale. The music was done by Siddharth Mahadevan, blending catchy tunes with heartfelt lyrics, and insiders say reshoots were minimal because the cast nailed the natural chemistry. Most people aren’t aware that this film sat on the shelf for years, building quiet buzz through teasers, and now it’s finally out to show how love stories can wait but still feel fresh.
