About The Film
Saalagaarara Sahakara Sangha follows four unemployed young men who find their lives spiralling under the weight of loans and mounting financial troubles.
Between relentless lenders knocking on their doors and a series of poor decisions that only add to their problems, the four friends are pushed further into a corner with each passing day.
Instead of facing their debts alone, the group comes up with an unusual idea, joining forces to form their own debtors’ cooperative union.
The film follows their attempt to turn a shared crisis into shared strength, hoping that standing together as a collective can help them find a way out of the financial mess they are in.
Told with a mix of humour and everyday struggle, the story leans into the chaos and camaraderie that comes from four very different men trying to solve the same problem in their own, often unconventional ways.
Without giving away how their plan actually plays out, the film builds its narrative around friendship, financial desperation and the lengths people go to when they decide to face their troubles together rather than alone.
