Bollywood welcomes a new face from the Kapoor clan as Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sister of actor Ranbir Kapoor, steps into the spotlight with her debut film ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’. Directed by Ashish R. Mohan, the comedy explores the hilarious chaos that ensues when a family gets entangled in their matriarch’s unexpected wedding plans.
Riddhima, 45, stars alongside her mother, veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, in what promises to be a heartwarming family affair. The ensemble cast includes comedian Kapil Sharma, known for his impeccable timing, as well as Sadia Khateeb, South Indian star Sarath Kumar, Nikhat Hegde, and Tejaswini Kolhapure.
Child actors Vidhaan Sharma and Swarna Pandey add youthful energy, while Satinder Kassoana rounds out the lineup. The script, penned by Mohan, Bunty Rathore, and Saahil S Sharma, blends humor with emotional depth.
Riddhima has shared that her debut was unplanned, crediting Kapil Sharma for encouraging her to take the plunge. “It was Kapil who made this possible,” she revealed in interviews. Sadia Khateeb described the set as the most fun she’s experienced, highlighting the camaraderie among the cast.
Filming began in April 2025 and included extensive shoots in Shimla’s historic Mall Road, wrapping a 52-day schedule there. Production is set to conclude by late January 2026, after initial delays pushed back a planned December 2025 release.
Produced by OCD Times and RTake Studios, ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’ targets an April-May 2026 rollout, with rumors suggesting a Mother’s Day premiere on May 10 to celebrate familial bonds.
This feel-good comedy-drama aims to resonate with audiences through its relatable themes of love, family, and second chances. Fans eagerly await this Kapoor family collaboration, blending legacy with fresh talent in Bollywood’s evolving landscape.
