Prabhas’ The Raja Saab: Fan Hypes 60% Recovery, But Reality Differs

Prabhas’ latest flick, The Raja Saab, a spooky comedy directed by Maruthi, is making waves online. A die-hard Prabhas fan posted on X that the movie has already clawed back 60% of its costs in just six days, even with bad reviews and tough Sankranthi rivals. The fan said it’s holding strong and might hit 70% by weekend’s end.

But let’s check the real numbers. Industry buzz says the film raked in about 124.65 crore net in India after six days, and around 180-182 crore gross worldwide. With a massive 400 crore budget, that’s only 44-52% recovery so far. Not as rosy as the fan claims.

Breaking it down day by day from Sacnilk: Premieres pulled 9.15 crore, Day 1 smashed 53.75 crore, Day 2 got 26 crore, Day 3 19.1 crore, Day 4 dipped to 6.6 crore, Day 5 4.8 crore, and Day 6 5.25 crore. Overseas, it’s at 3.55 million dollars, which is roughly 35% there.

Experts predict the total might not cross 200 crore lifetime, leading to losses up to 150 crore. The drop-off is blamed on so-so word-of-mouth and mixed critics’ takes. Some say the horror bits are fun, but the comedy falls flat.

Prabhas fans are super loyal, defending it online, but box office truth hurts. Competition from biggies like Game Changer and others during the festival season didn’t help. Still, the movie’s got that star power – Prabhas in a double role, with Malavika Mohanan and Nidhi Agerwal adding glam.

Will it bounce back this weekend? Only time will tell. If you’re a Prabhas bhakt, catch it for the laughs and scares. But numbers don’t lie – it’s struggling a bit. Hope it picks up steam soon!
