The Kerala Story 2 Day 2 Box Office Collection – ₹2.95 Cr

Published: February 28, 2026
Last Modified: February 28, 2026

The Kerala Story 2 box office collection

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond faced a delayed start on its first day due to a last-minute court clearance that restricted screenings to evening shows only. Early Sacnilk data now reflects this impact, with Day 1 collections corrected to around ₹0.90 crore in Indian gross after initial projections were revised.

On Day 2, early estimates from Sacnilk indicate a collection of approximately ₹2.95 crore in Indian gross, delivering a strong weekend recovery. This significant uptick highlights improved Saturday footfall despite the modest overall opening.

The trend shows clear growth from Friday, though theatre occupancy remains low at around 12 percent across tracked shows. Sustained momentum will now depend on positive word-of-mouth and broader audience interest in the coming days.

About The Kerala Story 2 and Future Prediction

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond continues the story of three young women who challenge family traditions for love, only to encounter unexpected control and hardship across Indian states. Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures, the film features Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, Aishwarya Ojha, Sumit Gahlawat and Arjan Singh Aujla in key roles. It addresses themes of freedom, manipulation and resilience in a social drama that builds on the original’s narrative.

Early audience feedback remains mixed, with praise for the lead performances but divided views on the sensitive themes. Regional protests and the delayed Friday release contributed to the subdued opening compared to the first film. The controlled ₹30 crore budget provides some cushion, but the sequel must convert curiosity into steady theatre attendance to succeed.

Trade observers project a lifetime India net of ₹35-50 crore if word-of-mouth strengthens over the weekend and weekdays. This range would allow the film to recover its budget comfortably, though reaching the blockbuster scale of the 2023 original seems unlikely without wider acceptance. Collections over the next few days will prove decisive.
