The Kerala Story 2 Day 6 Box Office Collection

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond completed its fifth day on a positive note, with a decent jump on Tuesday (Day 5). Taking advantage of discounted ticket pricing across major chains, the film collected an estimated ₹4 Cr on its first Tuesday, pushing the five-day India net total to approximately ₹16.65 Cr. The Tuesday bounce was expected and followed the general pattern seen with most Bollywood releases recently. Despite being weaker than the original on almost all parameters, the sequel has managed to stay afloat — largely because the film was made at a controlled budget of around ₹28–30 Cr.

Now on Day 6, its first Wednesday, early estimates suggest the film is on track to add somewhere around ₹2–3 Cr to its tally. The show count has actually increased on Day 6, with over 20,000 shows running across the country, which is a good sign and reflects the distributors’ confidence in the film’s word-of-mouth. With no major new release in sight until the Eid 2026 window, The Kerala Story 2 has a relatively clean runway ahead and should be able to consolidate its position through the second weekend.

The overall trend for the film so far shows a rocky first week — a delayed opening due to the Kerala High Court stay, a strong Saturday recovery, steady Sunday, a sharp weekday dip on Monday, and then a solid Tuesday boost. If the film can maintain decent numbers through its second weekend (March 8–9), crossing ₹25 Cr net in India is achievable. Whether it eventually recovers its budget and turns a profit will depend on how well it holds in the coming days

About The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond and Future Prediction

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is a 2026 Hindi-language drama film directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the Sunshine Pictures banner. It is a sequel to the 2023 blockbuster The Kerala Story and stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha in lead roles, with Sumit Gahlawat and Arjan Singh Aujla in supporting parts. The film follows the stories of three young women from different states who find themselves trapped in cycles of manipulation and control after falling in love — and eventually fight back. While the original The Kerala Story went on to become a massive box office success with a worldwide gross of around ₹304 Cr, this sequel has had a very different journey so far. Legal hurdles, mixed reviews, and a delayed release affected its initial momentum considerably.

Looking ahead, the film does have a few things working in its favour. There are no major Bollywood releases until Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic around Eid, giving it nearly two uncontested weeks at theatres. School holidays and regional festivals in parts of the country could give a mild boost over the second weekend. Word-of-mouth, while mixed, hasn’t been entirely negative either — a section of the audience that resonates with the film’s subject matter has been consistently turning up, as seen from the occupancy patterns. Trade analysts and platforms like Tenvow project a lifetime worldwide range of around ₹60–80 Cr if the film holds reasonably well in the coming days.

However, the gap between expectations and actual performance remains stark. The original film had collected ₹35.43 Cr in just its opening weekend — a number this sequel hasn’t even approached in six days. For the sequel to be declared a clean hit, it would likely need to reach at least ₹40–45 Cr net in India, which seems tough but not entirely out of reach given the clear theatrical window. A modest profit looks possible, but recreating the cultural and box office impact of the first film is clearly not on the cards for The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond.
