Dulhaniya Le Aaeegi hit theatres on 24 July 2026 as a straightforward Hindi wedding comedy. Directed by Akashaditya Lama, the film follows Navya, the only daughter of a successful businessman, whose planned grand wedding suddenly goes off track.
She is left racing against time to find a suitable groom, turning the celebration into a chaotic modern-day search filled with twists, humour and family pressure.
The story stays simple and avoids major spoilers. It focuses on family expectations, personal choice and the madness that surrounds big Indian weddings.
There are emotional father-daughter moments, comic misunderstandings and a few light romantic beats. The film never tries to become too dark or complicated. It aims for a clean, family-friendly experience.
Early audience reactions on BookMyShow, X and other platforms have been largely positive for a mid-budget release. Many viewers praised Khushalii Kumar for carrying the film with confident expressions and natural energy.
People noted that this is one of her more complete performances so far. Mahesh Manjrekar received appreciation for his emotional weight as the father, while Piyush Mishra and Snehil Dixit Mehra earned laughs for their comic timing. Several users mentioned the chemistry between Khushalii and the supporting women characters as a fun highlight.
At the same time, common complaints point to a predictable plot and some implausible situations that feel stretched. A few viewers felt the second half slows down and the writing plays too safe. Overall sentiment treats the film as an easy one-time watch rather than a standout release.
Families looking for a light, clean comedy with wedding chaos and heart will enjoy it in theatres. Those seeking fresh stories or high energy may find it average and prefer waiting for streaming. It delivers warmth and laughs without any heavy drama, making it a decent weekend option if you go with the right expectations.
